As teenager, dreamed of nursing in a developing country or refugee camp.
University
1978-1982
studied nursing in Manchester. Made many south east Asian friends and attended M/C Chinese Christian fellowship


Studied Cantonese in Hong Kong
1982-1983
Studied Cantonese in Hong Kong, in order to be able to support Cantonese speaking Vietnamese refugees in UK. Amazing God experiences with St Stephen’s society in the walled city and beyond.
Woolwich/Greenwich
1983-1995
Lived in Woolwich/Greenwich, S.E. London studying and working as a midwife and accident and emergency nurse. Life group leader and worship leader at “New Life Christian Fellowship”, part of Ichthus Christian fellowship


Marriage
27th July 1985
27th July 1985, age 25, married David Cheung from Hong Kong and from 1990-1994 welcomed Stephen, Joy and Joel into our family. Dawn joined us in 1996 in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong
1995-2020
Brought up family in Hong Kong, worked first as a nurse and then set up "Fun English” teaching young children English on the fishing island - Cheung Chau - where we lived, mainly with “Letterland” and fun musicals. Once children had flown the nest, volunteered at St Stephen’s society girls house at weekends, doing night duties and teaching cross stitch


David
1957-2007
Married to Cheung Wai Keung, David for 21 years. He was a lovely and faithful husband and dad and died from Cancer in 2007
Harvest Mission Training
2013
Attended Iris harvest mission training school in Mozambique and from then on was able to take part in several voluntary short term medical trips abroad.


Norwich
2016-2019
Made frequent trips to Norwich UK to look after older relatives
Now
2020-present
Settled in Norwich and commenced short term medical trips working with mainly Yazidi refugees in Kurdistan four times per year. When not abroad, cultivating a community garden and supporting neighbours on my estate and newcomers from Hong Kong.
